Today we take a compelling step back in time with a visit to historic Greenfield Village and the Henry Ford Museum. American History comes to life in Greenfield Village as we stroll the quaint streets, view the homes and browse through the workshops and mills that helped spark the Industrial Revolution. The Henry Ford Museum features over twelve acres of artifacts, inventions and mementos of American History. This evening is free for you to spend as you choose. B Day 4:
After breakfast, we bid farewell to Dearborn and make our way into northern Michigan.
We board our ferry for the short ride to Mackinac Island where we’ll step back “Somewhere in Time” to a bygone era. Our home for the next two evenings will be the gracious Island House, overlooking the Straits of Mackinac. (Horses, buggies and bicycles are the only transportation allowed on the island!) This evening, dinner is served at the hotel. Later, you may want to visit the Grand Hotel for music and dancing.
